The 2024 guide is coming soon!
The swim takes place a the Brant Park Conservation Area pool. This large, zero entry, pool allows participants to walk into the pool, swim and walk out of the pool. All participants will begin lined up on the pool deck. The participants will enter the pool by foot. Age groups 4-5 and 6-7 will swim directly to the exit location through the shallow water. Age groups 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 will be required to swim from the start, around a designated buoy and to exit location. All participants will walk/jog to the transition area to dry off and prepare for the bike.
There will be a wave calling location near the pool area. Please meet at the wave calling tent 10 minutes prior to your wave start time (waves will be called via loud speaker). Waves will be escorted to the pool area by a volunteer. Timing will start at the wave start time so please don’t be late. Swim aids (puddle jumper, life jackets) are mandatory for participants aged 4-5. A swim companion(parent/guardian) must accompany all 4-5 year old participants in the water on their swim (please come prepared with swim attire). Swim aids are optional for all other participants (life jackets may be provided upon request). Life guards will be on duty for all swim events. Spectator viewing will be permitted from outside the pool area(outside the fence), except for parent/guardian swim companions in lower age groups. Race bibs are not to be worn in the water (as timing chips are attached). |
Participants will put on their bike gear (shoes, shirt, helmet, etc.) and exit the transition area by walking their bike to the bike mounting line. Each participant will complete their loop(s) before dismounting their bike at the dismount line and walk their bike back to the transition area. The bikes and helmets will be received by a volunteer, and the participant will exit to the run course.
Note: Their is a slight elevation gain at the beginning/end of the bike loop. Participants may walk up the side(on the grass), if they are tired and having a tough time getting up the hill. |
Each participant will begin the run course by exiting the bike drop area and entering the run course. The run course is a relatively flat course on gravel, paved and grass surfaces. After finishing the required loop(s), the participant will enter the finishing chute (timing chip will stop, recording cumulative time).
